The Environmental Education Act came into effect on Jun. 5th, 2011. The aim of the act is to, through promoting environmental education for a long-term, enhance people’s knowledge, skill, values, and attitude. Following the promulgation of the Environmental Education Act, this Project continues to take responsibility in maintaining the two systems on behalf of the Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) to promote environmental education programs. The two systems are the Environmental Education Management Information System and the Environmental Education Lifelong Learning Website. New functions are gradually being installed throughout the year including environmental workshops, juridical person’s applications, subsidy applications, educational programs, and information on environmental education activities. This year, in addition to maintaining the systems’ functions and interfacing the data with outside sources, the project took a further step by interfacing the data on the Civil Servants’ Lifelong Learning Website and assured data consistency on the two websites. In addition, the information exchange between the Environmental Education Management Information System and the Environmental Education Lifelong Learning Website is enhanced. This increased the exposure of news and information on environmental education courses and events hosted by other sectors and attracted more outstanding groups and sectors to host these courses and events. More than a hundred relative functions have been adjusted due to amendments to the Environmental Education Act, the promulgation of the "Regulations for Reporting Environmental Education Plans and Implementation Results" and the "Regulations for Holding Environmental Seminar".
